Hi! I'm Jacie Lee. As a woman born and raised in Seoul and currently living in New York, I've been immersed in several cultures since birth and felt a deep connection to humanity — I love celebrating what connects us, and makes us different.
The inspiration behind product design and my 15+ years of consumer packaged goods brand design experience stem from my mother. The bright colors and textures she used in knitting and crafting always told a story. Her work taught me to recognize and appreciate the vivid world around me—the shapes of the clouds above; the colors and textures of flower petals at our feet. It's easy to take simple beauty for granted, so I've made it my mission to share this with others.
It's a cliche, but for me it cannot be more true: A picture is worth a thousand words. This has been my motto, in both my past consumer packaged goods brand design work and my current UX/UI work. I believe the most effective user experience is digestible, yet satisfying and intuitive—it weaves with a universal thread that connects us all, from the conception of an idea to the end-user and beyond. Successful branding, design, and UX/UI is simple, and it doesn't try too hard.
Like all of us, it should take advantage of the natural beauty and principles that we sometimes overlook. Because, after all, life is better once you stop and smell the roses.
When I'm not in digital space, you might find me enchanted by the beauty of flowers, dancing among blooms, and creating floral arrangements with my forever companion, the butterfly ranunculus.
